Your model, augmented — not authored by us

SolaMaxa ingests the architecture you already have, builds a canonical envelope from it, stages BIPV placement against real geometry, and writes analysis results back through explicit human review. It never silently moves a wall, changes a dimension, or authors architectural geometry.

Step 1 — Ingest

IFC models or drawings — both roads lead to the canonical model

IFC / openBIM ingestion

Parse project, site and storey structure from IFC; compose placements into a world transform; handle orientation (including true-north) and unit conversion to a canonical metric model; classify envelope surfaces into opaque and translucent candidates.

Drawing reconstruction

No model yet — the dominant case in early-stage screening. Calibrated, explainable reconstruction from PDF or image drawings into canonical building and surface records. Vector-based, with an operator calibration step; no unexplainable black-box inference.

Step 2 — The canonical envelope

Building → Surface → Zone → Module Array

Ingested geometry becomes a canonical, analysable envelope — the single model every other capability reads from. The 3D workspace keeps the hierarchy, geometry and results side by side, with deep links into any entity.

Step 3 — Stage & compare

Placement that respects the building as drawn

Placement runs as staged scenarios above the canonical model — nothing is written into the installation until you accept a scenario. The optimiser is a deterministic search that respects product dimensions, zone geometry, setbacks, existing arrays and your chosen objective, and explains every candidate array it proposes.

Staged, not committed

Configure, generate, evaluate, compare and review in 3D — the canonical installation is untouched until an explicit acceptance step.

Deterministic and explainable

No black-box optimisation: the same inputs produce the same scenarios, and each candidate carries its host surface, product snapshot and reasoning.

Objectives you choose

Optimise for generation, capacity, specific yield, utilisation or a target — and compare the ranked shortlist side by side before anything is accepted.

Step 4 — Controlled write-back

Write results back, under review — never geometry

Approved analysis results flow back to the architectural model through a human-review workflow: current versus proposed side by side, an immutable manifest of exactly what is written, and reconciliation on the way back. The boundary is non-negotiable: SolaMaxa augments the model — it does not author or move architectural geometry.

Keeping in step

Model sync and connector framework

An architectural connector framework ingests BIM platform models into the canonical envelope, and Revit connector contracts support the write-back path. See Integrations for what is available now versus in development.
